Dado que la semana próxima será la última tutoría y no habría tiempo para tratar el speaking topic a la semana siguiente, se ha incluido en el blog dos topics para la tutoría del miércoles 7 de diciembre: uno de la unidad 9 y otro de la unidad 10. Se ruega le den la mayor difusión posible al resto de compañeros/as, gracias

Tarea de la semana

*Mod. 1: What is your ideal house? Describe it.

*Mod. 3: What are your plans at Christmas? And your intentions?

*Mod. 6: Do you prefer watching a film at home or in the cinema? Also a speaking topic on the unit 10: why do people tell urban stories? Any anecdotes with any urban legends?

Suzanne, I'm emailing you so you'll stop calling me. You've really annoyed me. I told you that Saturday and Sunday were two days that were simply impossible for us to meet. I have very little time with my friends, and it is sacred. Sunday with my family even more so.

I skipped my friend's engagement party to be with you on Friday and I thought that we could have a dignified farewell on Saturday morning.

For you to even suggest that we meet after all that I confided in you was wrong. You were putting me under a pressure I didn't deserve. It's a pity, because I thought we had had a nice few days.

Such is life! Please respect my request. I wish you well.

2. EMAIL FROM SUZY TO ROBERT

“You can be absolutely calm that I'm not going to call again, of course, to be true, it is you who are being too strong on your words. If I have something, it is dignity. I was trying to know from you; in fact, I was very worried about your family, since you had told me about the seriousness of your father, and in fact, since I hadn't heard from you, I thought that perhaps things were wrong. THAT WAS THE ONLY REASON WHY I HAD BEEN INSISTING, just worry about your father, and his not feeling worse.

With respect to your weekend, I didn't have the intention to disturb you or cause any inconvenience. I have never disturbed anyone in my life, not even you. I thought that, if there was no problem, it would not have been a remote or weird idea to meet, but of course, with any intention, I insist, to disturb you.

With respect to Sunday, I thought the same, again. I thought, if your family commitments didn't absorb you so long, we could have met. My insistence was just for suggesting, and in fact, once you wrote “I'll call you later” I didn't call again in the rest of the day, as you could see.

You should remember that I insisted to accompany you to your friends' party, and it was you who decided to put it off, so please don't blame on me for not going. Perhaps the best would have been just to put off our meeting, and perhaps now you wouldn't blame so much on me. Since you don't know me, my family and friends are also very important for me, and I also care for them too much, like you.

The last thing that I'm going to tell your is that if perhaps you just had answered a single sms, just to say that everything so ok, buy forever, forgive me, everything would have just been different. It is just a question of politeness and correctness to answer to a person who is showing true interest in you. In this case, it was precisely worry about your father. But instead, you have just piled lots of messages of mine, and after that you have the courage to insult me and talk to me in such an agressive tone, which is unacceptable by me. You should know that, perhaps, and unlike you, those days were very important for me and that is why seeing you again had been so important for me.

Let me tell you that you may think of me that I have no dignity, but I will tell you that you have no idea the kind of sensitive person that I am, because while you were avoiding my calls, and insulting me mentally, I was just worried about you and your father.

I advise to learn how to treat a sensitive woman, and you should talk to her in a kinder, softer way. Let me tell you that you have hurt me, disappointed me and shown me things that I hadn't expected from you at all”.

Morning, perdón por el retraso en colgar los topics y tareas!
*Mod. 1: presentación personal, con la mayor información posible. También el alumnado tendrá que presentarse con la información de otra persona.

*Mod. 3: a speaking topic- do you remember your first kiss? Who? When? Where? What happened? How did you feel before and after it? Happy or unhappy ending? Try to use the grammar and vocabulary from unit 2.

*Mod. 6: a speaking topic- are you in favour or against alternative therapies? What are the advantanges and disadvantages of alternative therapies? Try to use the grammar and vocabulary from unit 1.

Adaptación de las unidades en NI

Debido al proceso de adaptación del curso, se ha hecho necesario la supresión de algunas unidades de los distintos módulos con el fin de ajustarnos a los contenidos necesarios y sesiones disponibles. Se ruega que tomen nota de las unidades que se suprimen (aconsejo tacharlas en el indice de vuestro libro) y cuyos contenidos no caerán en los exámenes respectivos:
*Mod. 6: se eliminan unidades 2, 3 y 7.
*Mod. 7: se eliminan unidades 1, 4 y 10.
*Mod. 8: se eliminan unidades 4, 5 y 9.

Comienzo de las tutorias

El próximo miércoles 29 de octubre comienzan las tutorías en el horario que ya se publicó en este blog en su momento (ver entradas antiguas). Debido al ajustado número de sesiones para impartir las unidades de cada uno de los módulos, se recomienda que el alumnado vaya ya con la primera unidad que corresponda en cada caso ya trabajada para dicha sesión, puesto que ya comenzaremos con las clases.

Nuevo día para las tutorias de TE 2014- 2015

Este año las tutorías no se realizarán los jueves sino los MIÉRCOLES. Aprovecho para detallaros el horario de cada uno de los módulos:
*de 17:00 a 18:00- alumnado NI
*de 18:00 a 19:00- alumnado NB 2
*de 19:00 a 20:00- alumnado NB 1

Matriculación para la admision al curso de TE

Se recuerda que, según las instrucciones, la matriculación para la admisión al curso solo se puede realizar telematicamente. Para ello es necesario rellenar el formulario que viene para ello en el portal de la Secretaria Virtual de la Junta de Andalucia. Adjunto el link de dicha web:

Os recuerdo que el plazo está abierto hasta el próximo día 22 de septiembre inclusive.

También me permito daros un consejo para la matriculación, especialmente para aquellas personas que lleven mucho tiempo sin hablar inglés y que acrediten certificado de Bachillerato o equivalente para acceder al último curso. Os recomiendo que soliciteis la prueba VIA y que se determine mejor en que nivel os corresponde matricularse. De esa manera os podeis asegurar de que os matriculais en un nivel adecuado a vuestras competencias y conocimientos actuales y evitar saturación y abandono del curso por falta de seguimiento o imposibilidad de llegar al nivel.

Nota aclaratoria sobre el Centro de Gestión y Centro de Docencia

El curso That's English es un curso semipresencial, sin asistencia obligatoria, que se imparte una vez a la semana en un Centro de Docencia. Toda gestión académica e informativa debe consultarse o solucionarse en el Centro de Gestión.
En este caso, el IES Cristóbal de Monroy en Alcala de Guadaira es unicamente el Centro de Docencia, el lugar "fisico" en el que se imparten las tutorías del curso. Sin embargo, es precisamente la EOI Dos Hermanas el Centro de Gestión al cual hay que dirigirse para cualquier consulta relativa al curso.
Por ello se ruega el cese de llamadas telefónicas al IES Cristóbal de Monroy para solicitar información sobre el curso en si, así como para tramitar cualquier gestión académica y que se dirijan a la EOI Dos Hermanas.

Comienzo del nuevo curso de That's English 2014- 2015

Desde el portal de Educación Permanente, en su espacio para That's English, se han cargado las nuevas instrucciones para el nuevo curso 2014- 2015. El enlace para su consulta, con información detallada, lo podreis encontrar a continuación:

En dichas instrucciones, se detalla que el plazo de solicitud de admisión se abre del 11 al 22 de septiembre, ambas fechas inclusive, en el Centro de Gestión de la EOI Dos Hermanas si se desea cursar en el IES Cristóbal de Monroy en Alcala de Guadaira. Para otros centros de interés, consultar las instrucciones.

Cambio de horario de examenes de mod. 2, 4 y 7

Debido a incompatibilidad de examenes con el centro, la hora de comienzo de todos los examenes en el dia de hoy se pospone a las 17.15.

Comunicado al alumnado con pendiente de TE

Debido a las altas temperaturas que estamos soportando en estos dias, se aconseja que el alumnado venga con ropa fresca y con botella de agua/ refresco.

Comunicado al alumnado de mod. 2 pendiente

Debido a que habra alumnado presente en el examen escrito del mod. 2 de hoy, se comunica al alumnado con la parte de speaking pendiente que no se presenten a la hora inicial del examen sino a las 18.30 en el aula 4.
